WayAway Plus is not a loyalty program where you earn points or miles, unlike any other membership. Instead, you receive actual cash in your PayPal account to spend however you wish. 

The membership costs 49.99 USD for a year, and with a fully booked journey through WayAway, you can quickly get that money back from only one trip. 

Here is the rundown of the rewards and cashback on flights and other services with a WayAway Plus account. Note that you get up to 5% cashback on flights.

Moreover, WayAway collaborates with other companies like Airhelp, Klook, and Tiqets, providing cashback on these services as well.  

You get cashback on flights and other services within 90 days of taking that flight or a tour. As mentioned, you earn money in your PayPal account whenever you want. There is no expiry date for cashback, so you don’t need to stress out and worry about spending it. 

Your cashback is visible on the WayAway Plus page under My Cashback. When you take the service eligible for a cashback, you’ll see the status Pending, which means the process is underway. When it changes to Completed, you can withdraw to your PayPal account. The threshold for withdrawing cashback is 10 USD. 

In addition, WayAway Plus members have access to 24/7 customer support. Whether you need help booking a flight, making changes to your plans, or resolving an issue, the WayAway team is available around the clock to assist.

The team is there to answer any travel-related questions, including recommendations on local spots or what to eat at your destination. 

What else does WayAway offer?

These additional services are my favorite of being a WayAway user. The platform provides user-generated content, insider tips, and recommendations from other travelers who have visited the destination or are locals, so you can discover hidden gems and off-the-beaten-path destinations you might not have found on your own. 

With detailed maps and real-time updates, you get the most up-to-date information on the best places to eat, drink, and explore. This user-generated content makes the platform more reliable, trustworthy, and engaging.

I absolutely love the neighborhood map with color-coded districts and labels to get the idea of the city in a nutshell. With these maps, you can also choose to see the most must-visit places in your chosen destinations, look for local favorites, or hunt down the most Instagramable spots for beautiful shots. 

The platform also lists the essential classic landmarks in your destination so that you can see the city’s most important sites. 

And last but not least, it also gives you cafe and bar recommendations based on users and locals to have the best culinary and cultural experience during your trip.

The WayAway app for Android and iOS has one additional feature – to see the concerts of your favorite singers and performers worldwide. You search for your favorite musician or a band, and it shows the dates and cities they’ll be holding a concert. 

How does WayAway work?

I briefly explained above that WayAway searches through various websites to show you the best deals and cashback on flights. 

It works as any other travel aggregator platform where you put your departure and destination cities, dates, and passengers. Based on this information, it will show you all the cheap flights with cashback starting from the cheapest and the fastest at the top, and then list them ascending to the most expensive. It also shows the flight duration and a layover airport when applicable. 

On top of the results, it also shows the prices a few days before and after your chosen date to get the best deal. And from the left side menu, you can filter out if you want direct or with layovers, to fly with a specific airline, for the ticket to include luggage, alliances if you are a member of any (Star Alliance, for instance), or if you want the ability to pay with PayPal instead of a credit card, and more. 

If you are planning a multi-city journey, WayAway has you covered on that too. You can click on Create Multi-City Route under the departure city field to enter city names and departure dates. 

And if you are flexible with your travel dates, WayAway’s price chart shows the dates when flight tickets are cheap or expensive. Then you decide which suits your needs and budget. 

Then, when you click on the chosen ticket, it gives you all the information, such as whether the luggage is included. The Details button next to the airline name shows you all the details of the aircraft itself and what type of bag it includes. It also shows you seat pitch, width, and general arrangement information. How cool is that?

It also lists the amenities and tells you if meals and drinks, for example, are free or priced. And lastly tells you flight statistics! 

One more feature of WayAway I like is its Explorer Map. This is super helpful if you need help knowing where to go and are on a budget. Alternatively, you can use the same map if you have set dates but need to know where to go based on your budget. 

The map lists all the possible cheap flights from your city to anywhere in the world. And the map has a Direct button above so that it can only show the direct flights if you want. 

And once you press your destination country, it lists all the cities you can explore based on the flight ticket prices.
